It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother on February 21st. Born in Québec City, Iris was the daughter of the late James Murphy and the late Margaret Corrigan. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Kenneth Lachapelle, her dearest twin, Rita, her sisters Kathleen, Majorie, Anna and Betty as well as her brothers Hubert, Bernie and John.

Adoring mother to Robert (Marie-Nadine Garneau), Karen (Michel Caldi) and Kevin (Marie-Andrée Beaudry). Cherished « Mumsie » to Kenneth, Victor, Mary, Eddie and Marianne. Special aunt to Louise Dussault (Serge Turcotte) and Anne-Marie Dussault (Marc Laurendeau), Danny and James O’Gallagher along with many nieces and nephews. A dear friend to many.

We wish to extend our loving gratitude to our mother’s angels – Katheline, Theresa, Anne-Marie and Ange – who helped to make her days sunny and bright. Heartfelt thankfulness to her care team on 3rd floor at St. Brigid’s Home for their tender and compassionate care.

« Mum » was pure kindness, loving and generous. She was the heart of our family that bonded us all together. She will be forever missed.

Visitations will take place at complexe funéraire Maison Gomin, 2026 René-Lévesque West, Québec City, on Friday February 24th from 7 :00 p.m. to 9 :00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 1145, de Salaberry Ave, Québec City, on Saturday February 25th at 1 :00 p.m. The family will receive condolences at the church at noon. The service will be followed by a reception in Iris’ memory in the parish hall.
