Gilles Vaillancourt

At the Institut universitaire de cardiologie et de pneumologie de Québec, on July 31, 2024, at the age of 83, Mr Gilles Vaillancourt, husband of Mrs Louise Turgeon, passed away.

He was the son of the late Mrs. Marie-Marthe Felteau and the late Mr. Charles-Cyrille Vaillancourt.

In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his daughter, Isabelle; his son Pierre predeceased him in 1987.

He was the brother of Marie (Stuart Henry), Louis and Marc (Diane Durette).

He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law of the Turgeon family: Estelle, Jacques (Anne Barnard) and Andrée (late Raynald Tremblay), as well as nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Following the death of his father, who founded La Galerie du Meuble in 1956, Gilles Vaillancourt took over the management of the company until its sale in 2012. For more than forty years, thanks to its vision and dynamism, the company has continuously progressed under its leadership, respecting the principles on which it was founded, to offer Quebec City customers furniture of superior quality from all over the world. This success could not have been achieved without the exceptional contribution of a dedicated team of fully committed customer service staff and the participation of the best furniture manufacturers from around the world.

The service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Saint-Dominique Church, 175 Grande-Allée Ouest, Québec, QC GIR 2H1 where the family will be present to welcome you, starting at 1:00 pm.
