Etienne Campagna

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our father Étienne Campagna, on 30 September 2024 in Levis (Quebec) at the age of 81. He passed away surrounded by his family. He was the spouse of the late Mr. Jean de Varennes.

The funeral will be held on 18th October 2024 at 3 pm EDT (Perth +12h; Vancouver –3h).

He leaves behind his children: Sophie (Robert Schmitz), Anne (Andrew Short), Charles (Slavka Côté Claveau) and Luce; his grandchildren: Jessica and Alice Schmitz, Emilie and Catherine Short, Mathias and Maelle Campagna, Noah and Talia Melun.

Étienne grew up in Sillery and taught mathematics at the Sainte-Croix high school for more than 30 years. Once retired, he lived over 20 years of happiness with his partner in Neufchâtel, at the chalet on Île d'Orléans and while traveling. His greatest passion was gardening, he created gardens of incredible beauty.

He is also survived by; the mother of his children Adée Dupuis, his brothers and sisters: the late Michel, the late Danièle (Louis Boudreau), Colette (the late Jean Burton Poitras), Geneviève (the late Serge Levasseur), René (Gisèle Lavertu) and Jean (Maryse Lagacé); his goddaughters: Natalie Gagnon (Gilles Aubé), Chantal Campagna (Alex Seliger) and Marilou Levasseur (Sébastien Arbour); his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from the Varennes family: Chantal, the late France (Yves Beaudoin), François (Christiane Saint-André) and Marie; the daughters of her late spouse: Anne (Bryan Tardif) and Catherine (Pierre-Marc Juneau) and their children: Rosalie, Ayden and Eve Tardif, Lucas and Adam Juneau; as well as his nephews, nieces, cousins, many other relatives and friends.
He went to join his beloved partner, Jean de Varennes.

The family would like to express its deep gratitude to the nursing staff of the intensive and palliative care departments of the Hôtel-Dieu de Lévis hospital for their kindness and excellent care.
